Pays d'Oc - Southern French Wine Genius
Located in the Languedoc region of Southern France, the Pays d'Oc produces the most regional (officially known as IGP) wine in France. It produces between 10-15% of all French wine in fact.
The most common grapes are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah which grow failry easily in the warm, favourable climate. You may be familiar with more of these wines than you think as they often come with a very friendly price tag making them perfect dinner party or light entertaining wines. The wines are generally made with fruit flavour in mind and are to be drunk young, preferably the day you pick them up!
