What is a Golden Ale?

Golden ales are top-fermented beers with a distinct pale golden hue. They are best recognised for having a balanced flavour profile, creating equal harmony between hoppy bitterness and malty sweetness. There's also a distinct bready, biscuity flavour that comes from the malt used. In essence, they are approachable, sessionable yet complex.

They are most popular in the UK, having been inspired from the traditional English Bitter ales. Experimentation has resulted in all maneer of new styles of golden ale, from barrel-aged to spice infused offerings on the market. We don't think that you can beat the classic though!
