Cachapoal Valley Wines

As the warmer of the two sub-regions in the Rapel Valley, the other being Colchagua Valley, Cachapoal has a reputation for producing large volumes of inexpensive red wines. The area around Peumo is well worth looking out for, being recognised for producing very good full-bodied and concentrated Carmenere. High quality Syrah and Cabernet tend to come from vineyards in the Andean foothills.
