About Blanc De Noirs Champagne

Blanc de Noirs translates literally from French as "White of Blacks" which is a term used to describe a White Wine made entirely out of black grapes. These black/red grapes undergo soft pressing and have minimal skin contact to reduce colour as far as possible and keep the actual colour of the wine white. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are the main grapes used in the production of Blanc De Noirs Champagne.

Generally speaking, Blanc de Noirs Champagnes are fuller bodied than Blanc de Blancs Champagne. However, they are thought to have less aging potential and develop quicker than Blanc de Blancs.
