The Canaries are the most tropical of Spanish Wine regions with hot and humid weather. Due to the mountainous terrain, many of the vineyards are high altitude and impossible to work with machinery. The most popular black grape is Listan Negro. It's a medium bodied wine with juicy red fruit flavours and is probably most similar to Beaujolais. On the whites, Malvasía and Listan Blanco which is known as Palomino in Sherry are most common.
