Aragon Wines
Aragon has four key wine regions, these are: Cariñena,
Campo de Borja and Calatayud in the west and Somontano to the north-east. The first three are warm and mainly produce red wines from Garnacha. Somontano is located at the foot of the Pyrenees with a cooler climate. Here Cabernet Sauvignon and
Chardonnay are the most planted and interestingly there are relatively high plantings of Gewürztraminer, something not associated with Spanish wine at all.
