Many of you will know the uniquely oaky taste of Bread & Butter Chardonnay. It is one of the few wines I have had a genuinely amazed reaction to, and it is wholly worthy of being the Tesco Wine of the Week.
Headed by legendary winemaker Linda Trotter, Bread & Butter's mantra is simple - good things shouldn't be complicated. Classically new world, it's full of big, bold and explosive flavours with unashamed oak use.
Of the Bread & Butter range, their Chardonnay is the standout that has put oaky chardonnay fondly back in style. The grapes are from Carneros, which is known for more restrained, delicate flavours, and Monterey, for riper, richer wines, making a full-bodied, full-flavoured and remarkably fresh wine.
You won't be suprised to hear you can taste bread and butter notes, alongside creamy vanilla bean, almond, ripe apple, pear, tropical fruits and toast. Exceptional on its own, even better with creamy pasta, BBQ chicken, grilled salmon or cheese!
