If you like Chablis with plenty of flavour, you're in luck. Older vines nourish the tastiest grapes, and those behind this are 40 years old. It's also aged on lees, which bring a delicious texture and complexity. Expect ripe citrus flavours, aromas of white flowers, a refreshing minerality and a bright finish.
Duckhorn Vineyards was one of the first forty wineries established in Napa Valley. The area has a stellar reputation for a reason – its vineyards are the first place to look for grapes of outstanding quality. Think white peaches, blossom and creamy lemon flavours. This is a complex, textured white with the subtle sweetness of French oak. It’s a sumptuous wine that will elevate a simple roast chicken to something really special.
The first recorded mention of Château du Domaine de l'Eglise dates back to 1589. It's reportedly the oldest château in Pomerol. Today, it's owned by one of the most experienced families in Bordeaux, who also own some of the region's very best estates. Expect elegant notes of plum, crème de cassis and cedar and a refined minerality. It'll pair well with lamb and a red wine sauce. Drink now or age until 2040.
If you’re looking for an excellent, classic Sancerre, this is it. Winemaker-owner Thierry Merlin Cherrier has vineyards dotted across a variety of the region's signature limestone and clay soils. His Sancerre has flavour, intensity and finesse, with ripe, fresh aromas of white flowers and asparagus. Sip to discover a smooth and full-bodied wine with hints of citrus, green apple and grass.
Chanoine Frères was founded in 1730 and is the second-oldest Champagne house. It's developed its signature style over almost three centuries since, and the expertise certainly shows in this vintage Champagne. It has fine, delicate bubbles and rich flavours of candied fruit, roasted hazelnuts and honey.
