It opens with crushed strawberry, raspberry and violet, which lean into ripe plum and licorice as it develops. Tannins are soft and structured, making it an ideal wine for red meats and cold nights.
• Meerlust Rubicon - A real favourite amongst South African wine lovers, Meerlust Rubicon is a delicious Bordeaux style blend. It is Meerlust's flagship wine - complex, rich fruits, smooth tannin and beautiful oak spice.
• La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza Reserva - Rioja fans shouldn't need an introduction to this, but it is safe to say that this is one of Rioja's finest. Hand harvested and given 36 months in oak, the ageing process reveals an old school Rioja that mingles rich red fruits with vanilla, toast and sweet spice. This is another red lovers dream.
