Pic Saint-Loup tends to be more at the whim of weather than the other Languedoc wine appellations, with cold winters and warm summers compounded by high rainfall. This climate results in something quite similar to the northern Rhône. And in a similar manner, Syrah grows well here and must make up half of the blend. No white wine is produced.
