Ratafia Wine Offers

Ratafia is a traditional sweet, fortified wine or liqueur (which comes down to the region it is from), that is typically made from grape juice blended with brandy or pomace brandy (marc). There are a few regions it is made:

• Ratafia de Champagne - Made in Champagne using grape juice from Champagne grapes and fortified with Champagne marc.
• Ratafia de Bourgogne - Same idea but from Burgundy.
• Ratafia de Jura - Made in Jura and Franche-Comté, again combining local varieties with marc or eau-de-vie.
• Ratafia Catalana - Made in Spain where aguardiente (grape spirit) is infused with various ingredients such as walnuts, lemon peel, herbs, and spices. Recipes are almost always secret.
• Italian Ratafia - Made in Abruzzo & Piedmont. Sour cherries are macerated with wines and spirit, balancing tartness and fruit.
