What is Crémant
Made with the same technique as Champagne, but at a far more accessible price range, look to Crémant as a new and exciting tipple of choice.
These sparkling wines will satisfy your desire for high quality as they use the labour intensive secondary bottle fermentation (the same as Champagne). Differently to Champagne though, there are a huge variety of wines to choose from as they are made across several different regions of France.
This means there can be huge variation in the flavour profile of these wines, so you’re sure to find a bottle you’ll love!
Demand for Crémant is still quite low. In fact in a sparkling wine survey we carried out in October 2018, only 3% of the respondents said they ‘regularly bought crémant’. This is despite the fact that 46% of respondents stated that they looked to spend around £8 - £12 per bottle. This is exactly the type of Price range that Crémant fits in to.
Is this largely due to the fact that Prosecco has become so well known and often fits into this same price category (though often can be found for less), that people would rather not risk trying something new?
We think it’s time to branch out challenge your expectations when it comes to great value sparkling. Crémant can be found in many supermarkets and wine merchants, and you can find all the best prices just here.
