Beaumes de Venise
Most famous for its sweet, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise wines, this area, located south of Gigondas and east of Vacqueyras is now making increasingly good red and rose wines.
About & Food Matching
These wines are similar in style to their village neighbours, with ripe, spicy, peppery blackberry fruit flavours, produced from the ubiquitous Grenache grape, with Syrah and Mourvedre as back up.
The dessert wines are luscious and beguiling and made from the Muscat grape, which is one of the few grapes that actually makes wine that tastes of freshly crushed grapes!
Style: sweet, luscious and honeyed, with a delicious freshly crushed sweet grape and raisiny taste, yet with a lively, citrussy, refreshing edge.
