Cafayate Wines
Cafayate is a distinguished GI in Argentina's Salta province. Located amongst the very highest places in the world suitable for viticulture, with the majority of vineyards 1700m above sea level, Cafayate wines are defined by altitude.
Torrontes is the white grape variety of note here, creating fragrant, warm wines with distinctive aromas of pineapple, orange blossom, apricot, and lychee. They are extremely refreshing and flavoursome. On the red front, Malbec makes intense fruity red and rose wines with herbal backbones, and Cabernet Sauvignon excels in a herbaceous, full-bodied style with spice and red fruits.
