The Wines

  • Sacchetto Col de L'Utia Frizzante – This is a lightly sparkling Italian masterpiece that teases your tongue with a soft bubbly tingle. It’s not the full whack fizz you might be used to, but that means you’ll have more room for canapes and food! Fresh, fruity and dangerously quaffable – the perfect start to the big day.
  • Le Petit Train Syrah – This wine was made in a converted old train station thanks to funding from Naked’s Angels – pretty cool right? Equally cool is that the grapes are picked from old, gnarly vines in the Languedoc making a super concentrated, smooth, fruity wine that is packed with bramble, black pepper and violet. It’s a wine made for hearty meals and those who love a bit of depth.
  • Galodoro Vinho Regional Lisboa – Galodoro is an exciting Portuguese red blend with a little Cabernet added to bring even more weight to the mix. It is supremely smooth and easy drinking with ripe, juicy fruits and a sumptuous mouthfeel. Naked customers consistently scored the latest vintages at 98%!
  • Christian Patat Montepulciano d'Abruzzo – Montepulciano is a byword for big Italian red and Christian Patat is a name you can trust to deliver. Mulberries and violets lead into damson and cherry with effortless silky aplomb. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for even the fussiest drinker. And if they don’t like it, it’s not the wine, it’s them.
  • Sebastian San Martin Antuen Malbec – Hailing from Argentina’s Uco Valley, the grapes for this wine come from high altitude from a small, family-run vineyard. It’s aromatic, fresh, fruity and juicy. Think bramble, blackcurrant and all manner of juicy red and black berries, with a slightly oak-spiced finish.
  • Carmen Stevens Angels Selection Shiraz – An indulgent South African Shiraz made from carefully hand-picked grapes, ensuring that flavour is maximised. It’s a lot of things all at once: big, fruity and spicy. The character is brooding, brimming with rich, plummy fruits and a nice peppery finish leaving you feeling all warm inside.
  • Castillo Catadau Tinto – This is a Spanish wine from the lesser explored Valencian wine scene made largely from Tempranillo as in Rioja. It is bright and elegant with ripe red berries, lavender and thyme giving it some real herbaceous complexity. The flavour intensity is strong, but well tempered by high acidity keeping it feeling fresh and lively.
  • Villebois Sauvignon Blanc – You are always going to need a glass of Sauvignon for the white drinkers, and this benchmark is a real winner. Since 2011 each vintage has rated above 90% and it sells out quickly. Luckily, this case ensures you don’t have to fight for it. It’s brilliant Loire style where tropical gooseberries mingle with crisp, green apples on the palate. If you like a seafood starter and a creamy bread sauce with the mains, I’d suggest saving this for the 25th.
  • Arabella Chenin Blanc – Bring some excitement to your tongue with this rich, racy South African beauty. It boasts zingy lemon and apple flavours, given richness by a creamy undertone. With multiple awards under its belt that speak for the quality, this is your chance to find out for yourself.
  • La Orphica Selección Aurora – The most exciting blend in the case (in my opinion) with Sauvignon, Verdejo, Viura and Moscatel. Citrus, grapefruit and other zippy fruits come from the Sauvignon and Verdejo, whilst Viura brings ripe stone fruits and melon and Moscatel brings a floral orange blossom touch. This proves you can get high quality white made from unique blends, you just need to try it!
  • Christian Patat Grecanico – Grecanico is an Italian variety that is gaining momentum, and with wines like this it is easy to see where that’s coming from. It combines crisp and zesty citrus fruits with stone fruits and tropical fruits. It does it all really. Think white peaches, golden apples, pineapple, mango, lemon and lime. It’s a ray of sunshine to enjoy during the shorter days.
  • Juicy's Chardonnay – An Aussie Chardonnay is always welcome. For this wine, the grapes were harvested in two batches, the earlier group for their higher acidity, and the later harvest for the more fruity, tropical flavours. The result is a mouthwatering blend of the two, giving you a complex, perfectly balanced wine. Think tropical fruits, lemon, peach and soft, creamy goodness.
  • Sam Plunkett The Butterfly Effect Reserve Shiraz MagnumTHE FREE MAGNUM! Produced by a winner of the Best Shiraz in Australia, this is Aussie Shiraz in its most natural form. Juicy, smooth, spicy – it’s made with the very best grapes to bring oodles of flavour punch and structure, making it an ideal food wine to wow your guests on the Christmas table. This is a freebie to end all freebies.

Don’t delay and get your order in as soon as possible. After all, 'tis the season to drink seriously good wine and these 12 standout festive wines, along with a very merry free magnum, are one of the best on the market. Did we mention it’s only £79.99?!
