One of the American Bourbon powerhouses and most popular worldwide, Makers Mark is marketed as a small batch bourbon and has its roots in the humble city of Loretto, Kentucky. Founded in 1958 and as such a relative late-comer to the distilling game when compared to its larger rivals, Maker’s Mark certainly made their mark quickly and in less than 60 years they have become one of the most celebrated bourbons in the US.

Interestingly, Maker’s Mark isn’t made with any rye at all, instead a red wheat is used in the mash which gives it its trademark reddish hue.
