Rhubarb Gin

Gin and Tonic

When you think about Rhubarb, what springs to mind? For me, it’s a Rhubarb crumble and custard, sitting around the table on a Sunday with nearest and dearest. It evokes a nostalgia and a sense of British-ness. It also helps that (when prepared right!) it is extremely delicious.

Something we might never have seen on the horizon however, was the boom in Rhubarb flavoured Gin. It has quite literally burst onto the scene, and you’re likely to find it now in every kind of supermarket and bar alike. Far from reminding us of those warm hearty desserts though, it is an absolutely delightful refreshment, when served with Tonic and a LOT if ice.

So why exactly, is Rhubarb Gin so popular?

According to the Telegraph, since the launch of the first Rhubarb Gin around 4 years ago, sales have increased 8,640%*. It seems to come from a demand for more British Ingredients. People are interested in shopping local and knowing where their ingredients come from. It sees the same is true when it comes to our gin!

Whatever the reason, it seems that right now Rhubarb Gin is here to stay, and if you want to get your hands on some, you can find the latest and best prices here.

Oh, and don’t forget to try it with some ginger ale, or ginger flavoured tonic – they’re a match made in heaven, trust me!
