Gualtallary Wines

Gualtallary is a small district in the Tupungato department of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. It's a long strip of narrow vineyards over 1000m above sea level which makes extraordinary wines of complexity, distinction and quality for both red and whites.

The Malbecs from here are lighter in body and higher in acidity than anywhere else in Argentina, with red and black fruit character and even a herbal character that you don't often find in Malbec. But, it is well worth it. Cabernet Franc is also popular as it lends itself to cool climate winemaking, as do Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
