Okanagan Valley Wines
Okanagan comprises around 85% of the British Columbia wine region's production. It covers 150 miles in length, with the north of the region (one of the most northerly in the world) offering cooler temperatures. Due to its size, there are a number of small sub-appellations being created in recognition of its differing climates.
From the north, you'll find better quality Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, whilst Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah begin to come into their own as you move south.
