The Northern Sonoma AVA covers a wide area, from the Mendocino border in the north, the Mayacamas Mountains in the east, down to Santa Rosa in the middle of Sonoma County. Its vineyards are separated from the Pacific Ocean by the Sonoma Coast AVA.
