Corbières is one of the prime red winemaking areas of the Languedoc, deep in the South of France. The warm, sunny weather here produces reds of great ripeness and concentration. This wine, made by the renowned producer Gerard Bertrand has been made from a blend of classic Southern French grapes, including Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. It was aged in oak barrels for 8 months which has added spicy hints.
Serve this wine at room temperature with hearty dishes such as rich meat casseroles, peppered steak or roast lamb. It goes well with full-flavoured cheeses too.
Although ready to drink now, you can keep this wine for up to one year after purchase. Once started, enjoy it within three days and store the bottle somewhere cool, resealing it between servings.
