"Salmon pink in the glass, floral hints of lilac and iris mix with freshly crushed raspberries and hints of wild red berries and strawberry" said olivier Marie of Coq d'Argent, adding: "Gingerbread spices add to a delicate palate with an unctuous mousse and a long length."

There is no substitute for champagne, so why not try one of those lesser-known houses, such as this Pinot Noir-dominated blend full of flavours of wild berries and cherries. It is great.
