This cracking wine has a link to Spain's Pingus (the massively expensive Ribera del Duero rather than the cartoon penguin): it is aged in the barrels used for their top wine. So every drop has a little bit of Pingus in it! Beyond that it's simply ravishing wine. It's a symphony of seductive flavours, made all the more attractive by a little age. Expect a swirling, but soft mix of red fruit, cherries, tobacco and liquorice on the tongue. Exceptional.
