This is a stunning wine, made from one of the most aromatically intriguing Italian grapes of all - Nerello Mascalese. The grapes are grown just outside the town of Menfi, on the south coast of Sicily to the west of the island. It is a typical Sicilian town surrounded by orchards, olive groves and vineyards. Here the vines benefit from cooling coastal breezes on hot summer afternoons thanks to the moderating influence of the nearby Mediterranean Sea.
