Beautifully pure aromas of blueberries, violets and spice leap from the glass. Silky-soft texture, lusciously juicy fruit and fine balancing acidity. It is extraordinarily harmonious and delicious to drink already, yet its superb balance and intensity mean it should drink well until 2020 or longer.

Product reviewed: Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz Barossa Valley

Very nice sweet aromatics, lovely juicy, sweet blackcurrant fruit richness. Beautiful balance of seamless, dark mulberry and loganberry fruit quality with a hint of pepper. Fruity and stylish.

Product reviewed: Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz Barossa Valley

Polished and pure, this modern wine expertly combines the fruit of Shiraz with the spice of Syrah. Sweet blackberries and oak with a herbal edge, meat, pepper, perfume and violets are all underpinned by spice and integrated tannins. For such a big wine, it displays genuine elegance and subtlety.

Product reviewed: Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz Barossa Valley

First of the "Outstanding" category, with a score of 95+/100. Drink 2014-2022. Ben Glaetzer has long been celebrated among the cult, young 'rock star, set of the Barossa wine fraternity, but in recent years his wines have adopted a more relaxed demeanour in which fruit expression is prized above ripeness, alcohol and oak. This is particularly pertinent in toning the warm Ebenezer sub-region of Northern Barossa, where Glaetzer sources Bishop from 35-125 year old vines. Extended maceration keeps the wine soft and approachable, while French oak ensures the wood influence is subtle, giving full voice to the outstanding 2012 vintage. | Brett Crittenden: Could be in the Rhone with lovely oak and serious fruit hints of pepper and leathery richness. Such beautiful integration of all the components make this a real superstar - long and complex. I would never have associated Ben Glaetzer with Rhone style wines, yet this one shone like a beacon. Majestic integration of so many fruits, spices, leather, yet rich and fine-grained. A triumph. | Pierre Mansour: Superb, Shiraz peppery aroma, intense yet focused. Multi-layered, overt, dense black fruit typical of top Barossa Shiraz. Generous fruit and depth of flavour, tannins grainy and ripe. This wine has real appeal. | Anthony Rose: Very nice sweet aromatics, lovely juicy, sweet black currant fruit richness. Beautiful balance of seamless, dark mulberry and loganberry fruit quality with a hint of pepper. Fruity and stylish.
