Here's an enthralling example of Puligny Montrachet in the astonishingly good 2015 vintage - descibed by Decanter as possibly "a very great one". Wine Advocate says the 2015 wines are "extraordinary", and Vinous calls them "clean, pure and rich". Thanks to the warmth, they will be deliciously ripe and forward, too. Father and son Jean-Claude and Nicolas Monnier made the best of the spectacular harvest. The estate was founded in Meursault in 1720 and now comprises 16 hectares extending from Puligny Montrachet to Beaune. Their 2015 Puligny shows a delightful, smooth creaminess on the mid-palate, with bright apricot fruit and spice on the luxurious long finish. It'll develop with time so for now let it breathe. Complements fine seafood dishes.
