Colombier is quite simply one of the best producers of Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage. The domaine has been in the same family since 1929 and current owner Florent Viale continues to build up their already impressive reputation. The style is ‘classic’, with sparing use of new oak and a focus on terroir and purity of fruit. Exceptional Crozes-Hermitage.
“I loved the 2013 Crozes Hermitage Cuvee Gaby. Deep, rich and surprisingly concentrated, it offers classic blackberry, cassis, violets and pepper to go with a medium to full-bodied feel on the palate. It has plenty of richness and should have a decade of longevity.” – 90 – 92. Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com
