The family-owned estate of Azamor was purchased in 1998 by Alison and Joaquim Luiz-Gomes and has since built a reputation for good quality, fruit-driven wines of excellent value. Azamor is located in the east between Borba and Elvas, and, as one of the highest points in the region, enjoys spectacular views over Spain. The vineyards here are densely planted, resulting in low-vigour vines that are perfect for producing concentrated, full-flavoured grapes.
