A classic harmony of the two varietals. On the nose the wine is well balanced with spicy notes of cloves, liquorice & lashings of plum & black cherries. Also an impression of age on the nose with the presence of slight nuttiness & perhaps cedar, pencil shavings. Palate confirms the nose in terms of the fruit flavours with an obvious jamminess. Quite creamy though.Well structured with a fleshy mid palate offered by shiraz. A good economical match for roasted joints...
