Not far removed from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé in style, Menetou-Salon remains far less well known than it's more expensive neighbours. 2014 was not an easy vintage in the Loire and it's success was far from a certainty, however a fine September came to the rescue and the wines produced have caused quite a stir. Many are saying that 2014 is one of the best vintages ever and this is a fine example of the quality on offer.
The same family have been making wine at Domaine de l’Ermitage since 1520, so as you can imagine, they have a very good understanding of the terroir. The resulting white is very high-class indeed, boasting wonderful aromatics and impressive complexity. This is a superb example of what the tiny Menetou appellation can offer in terms of quality and value.
